Lumpsum Calculator

Estimate what a one-time investment could be worth in the future. Enter the amount, expected annual return and holding period to see the projected value, total gains and what that value means in today’s money.

Calculations are for illustrative purposes only and do not guarantee returns. Actual SIF returns vary with market conditions; taxes, exit loads and expenses are not included.

How the lumpsum calculator works

A lumpsum investment compounds once a year at your expected rate:

FV = P × (1 + r)ⁿ, where P is the amount invested, r is the annual return and n is the number of years.

For example, ₹5 lakh invested for 10 years at 12% a year grows to about ₹15.5 lakh.

Lumpsum vs SIP

A lumpsum puts all your money to work at once, so it benefits most from a long holding period. A SIP spreads purchases over time and reduces the risk of investing everything at a market high. Compare both with the SIP calculator.

Frequently asked questions

How is lumpsum return calculated?

The calculator compounds your investment annually at the expected rate: future value = amount × (1 + annual return)^years.

What is the inflation-adjusted value?

It is the projected value discounted by your assumed inflation rate, showing roughly what the future amount would buy in today’s prices.

Does the lumpsum calculator include taxes?

No. Results are pre-tax and exclude exit loads and expenses.
